This blog covers Montgomery County, Pennsylvania’s Department of Parks and Heritage Services. Park sites include Central Perkiomen Valley Park, Green Lane Park, Lower Perkiomen Valley Park, Lorimer Park, Norristown Farm Park and Upper Schuylkill Valley Park. Historic Heritage Sites are Pennypacker Mills, the home of PA governor Samuel Pennypacker; Peter Wentz Farmstead, the 18th century farmhouse of Peter Wentz (George Washington slept here!) and Pottsgrove Manor, the 18th century manor house of John Potts, founder of Pottstown.
In addition to the Parks and Heritage Sites, the Department maintains many trails (over 60 miles) in the county, including the Schuylkill River Trail, the Perkiomen Trail, the Cross-County Trail and others.
