The Peter Wentz Farmstead Society paid for a re-creation of the ice house at the Farmstead. Located in what is believed to be the original site of the ice house, over the root cellar (still extant), this ice house was based on other standing ice houses in the area. On April 12, 2008, Will Brobst, Region Manager for the Department of Parks and Heritage Services, accepted the plaque on behalf of Montgomery County. The plaque will be placed inside the ice house.

Peter Wentz Farmstead – Sheep Shearing 2008

Peter Wentz Farmstead had a sheep shearing on Saturday, April 12. Thanks to the many volunteers who recreated 18th century farm practices, like rug-hooking, breaking flax, and weaving.
